Term 1: Acting Essentials
Acting is about more than learning lines, it’s about stepping into a character, telling stories with truth, and building the courage to share your voice. In this program, teens will explore the fundamentals of performance in a way that challenges and excites them. Through scene work, improvisation, and practical exercises, they’ll discover how intention, presence, and collaboration bring performances to life.
With guidance from industry professionals, students will sharpen their technique, build confidence, and learn how to perform authentically for both stage and screen. Every session is designed to help them grow as actors and as people, developing the courage, communication, and creative instincts that last far beyond the studio.
For those with prior experience, a Professional stream is available. Designed for students already auditioning, with prior training, or working in the industry, this advanced level pushes deeper into characterisation, text analysis, and professional preparation.
Entry to the professional stream is by audition, ensuring students are supported and challenged at the right level for their journey.Throughout the term, students will:
Explore script work and scene study, learning how characters and relationships drive a story
Strengthen voice and presence through articulation, emotional connection, and stagecraft
Develop spontaneity and adaptability through improvisation and ensemble work
Build camera and stage performance skills, including blocking, timing, and physical expression

Emotional Literacy
Creativity gives safe ways to explore identity, process emotions, and gain empathy for others, skills that matter for mental health, relationships, and leadership.
Academic & Career Flexibility
Skills like visual thinking, storytelling, editing, and design are increasingly valued in many fields — not just in the arts, but in media, tech, marketing, education and more.
Stronger Academic Outcomes
Research shows creative thinking improves literacy, numeracy and standardised test performance by boosting confidence and a sense of control over learning.
Problem Solving and Adaptability
According to the ABS, creatively engaged teens show stronger problem-solving, adaptability and social connection — traits essential for thriving in school and in future careers.
