Every school holidays, YAS Studio opens its doors to a series of dynamic, one-of-a-kind workshops led by guest teachers from across the creative industries. These are artists and professionals at the very top of their game and shaping today’s stage, screen, and media landscapes. Whether it’s trying something new, sharpening existing skills, or being inspired by a fresh perspective, our holiday workshops are designed to spark growth, confidence, and creativity.
ANIMATION: CHARACTER CREATION CRASH COURSE

In this two-day animation workshop, students will dive into the exciting process of creating original characters from concept to finished design.
FILM: 48-HOUR FILMMAKING CHALLENGE
Make a film in 48 hours!

In this fun and fast-paced two-day workshop, young filmmakers will take on a 48-hour filmmaking challenge, working together in small groups to create their very own short film from start to finish.

In this fun, hands-on two-day workshop, young artists will explore the exciting world of character creation for animation. Students will learn how animators turn simple shapes and ideas into colourful characters full of personality.

In this exciting three-day filmmaking workshop, students will take on the challenge of creating a short film from concept to screen.
ACTING FOR SCREEN: AUDITIONS & SELF TAPES
Acting for Screen with Ra Chapman
Dates: 14 & 15 April (2-day workshop)
In this two-day workshop, students will explore the craft of screen acting and audition technique with actor, writer and filmmaker Ra Chapman (Wentworth, White Fever, Sunny Nights).
ACTING: CONFIDENCE ON SCREEN
Acting: Confidence on Screen
Dates: 15 & 16 April (2-day workshop)
In this exciting two-day acting workshop, young performers will step in front of the camera and discover what it takes to deliver a natural, truthful performance on screen. Guided by professional actor Danielle Pears.
